Spathe Plant Care

Spathe Watering
Watering Spathes takes absolute balance to keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. This is usually about once a week. Use filtered, distilled, or room-temperature tap water to prevent brown, crispy leaf tips.
Spathe flowers are sensitive to fluoride, chlorine, and salts in tap water, which cause browning. Use filtered, distilled, or overnight-aged tap water. Pour lukewarm water slowly around the base in circles until it drains steadily from the bottom.
Spathe Lighting Requirements
Spathes thrive in bright, indirect light, making them a great choice for well-lit indoor spaces. They can tolerate lower light conditions, but they'll grow more slowly and produce fewer blooms. Avoid placing them in strong, direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves and fade their vibrant appearance. A spot near a window with filtered light, such as behind a sheer curtain, is ideal. If the afternoon sun becomes too intense during the warmer months, move your Spathe to a slightly shadier location to keep it healthy, lush, and blooming beautifully.
