Chlorophytum Watering
Chlorophytum, commonly known as the “spider plant,” includes around 200 species, though not all are as familiar as the classic green-and-white variegated variety. They’re easygoing drinkers, too: their soil likes to stay lightly moist but never soggy. Let the top inch or two dry out between waterings, and always drain any extra from the saucer to keep those roots happy. Too much water can lead to root rot, while too little will leave the leaves drooping. Keep it balanced, and your Chlorophytum will reward you with lush, arching foliage and plenty of baby spiderettes to share.
Chlorophytum Lighting
Chlorophytums thrive in bright, indirect light. Think filtered sun through a window or a sunny corner that brings a little cheer to your space. They can handle lower light, though growth may slow and variegation might fade. Steer clear of harsh, direct sun, which can scorch their leaves. Give them a spot with room to stretch and show off their graceful, arching foliage — these plants love a little space to strut their stuff.
