Bromeliad Plant Care

Bromeliad Watering
Bromeliads are low-maintenance, with a watering routine that's a little different from most houseplants. Keep the central cup, or "tank," about a quarter to halfway full of fresh water, and refresh it every week to prevent stagnation. Water the potting mix only when it feels mostly dry, using the classic drench-and-drain method. Too much moisture around the roots can lead to rot, so avoid keeping the soil constantly wet and dump any excess water at the bottom of your pot.
If the cup stays empty for too long, your Bromeliad may lose its vibrant color or develop dry leaf tips. If you see this, it’s time for a refill! These tropical plants also appreciate bright, humid conditions, so they’ll love a nearby humidifier or a light spritzing once a week. Just be sure to empty and replace the water in the central cup regularly to keep your plant healthy and thriving.

Bromeliad Lighting Care
Bromeliads love bright, indirect light and will reward you with vibrant foliage and long-lasting blooms when they get the balance just right. A bright room near a window is ideal, but keep them out of harsh, direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. If they're sitting close to a sunny window, a sheer curtain can help soften the light.
During the winter, you may experience lower light levels, slower growth, and duller color. We reccomend finding a bright spot with filtered light.
