Ficus Watering
Ficus are all about the deep drink, not constant sipping. Let the top few inches of soil dry out completely, then give them a thorough watering — drench it until water flows out the bottom, and let any extra drain away. These plants thrive on less frequent, deep waterings rather than tiny sips every few days.
A well-draining potting mix is a must, and, like most houseplants, your Ficus will thank you for a pot with proper drainage so its roots never have to sit in soggy soil. Treat it right, and it’ll reward you with glossy, thriving leaves.
Ficus Lighting
Ficus thrive in bright, indirect light. They can handle a little direct sun in the early morning or late evening, but intense afternoon rays are best avoided unless you slowly ease them into it. Once you’ve found the perfect spot for your Ficus, keep it there! These plants aren’t fans of being moved around, and sudden changes can lead to the dreaded leaf drop. Treat it well, and your Ficus will reward you with a lush, glossy display.
