Kalanchoe Plant Care

Kalanchoe Watering
Kalanchoes prefer life on the drier side, so let the soil dry out completely before giving them another drink. Water thoroughly using the drench-and-drain method, allowing any excess water to flow freely from the drainage holes, then wait until the potting mix is dry again. Depending on your home's temperature, humidity, and the season, this is usually every two to three weeks.
Too much water is the quickest way to upset a Kalanchoe, leading to soggy roots, yellowing leaves, and rot. On the other hand, if the leaves begin to wrinkle or feel softer than usual, your plant is probably ready for a deep watering. These cheerful succulents thrive in bright light and don't need extra humidity, making them wonderfully low-maintenance houseplants.
Kalanchoe Lighting Care
Kalanchoes love bright, indirect light. A bright room with plenty of natural light is perfect, just keep them out of harsh, direct rays for long periods, as too much intense sun can scorch their leaves. If you place them near a sunny window, a sheer curtain works wonders to soften the light just right. Keep an eye on them during the warmer months as well. Summer sunshine can be especially strong, so moving your plant a little farther from the window can help keep your Kalanchoe healthy, compact, and blooming beautifully.
