Calatheas are the drama queens of the plant world. They love to show off, but only on their terms! These beauties thrive in bright, indirect light and will sulk (aka fade or lose their pattern) if exposed to too much direct sun. Too little light? They’ll survive, but their flair will be muted.

Bonus: keep an eye on them throughout the day — their leaves move in a daily dance called nyctinasty, opening up in the morning and folding at night, like they’re ready for their close-up.
